Kh-59MK2

The Kh-59MK2 guided air-launched missile is intended to kill a variety of pin-pointed stationary ground targets, including targets with no radar, IR and optical background contrast. The missile operates on "launch-and-forget" principle and demonstrates high guidance accuracy due to autonomous terrain recognition in the target area. Low-level goal flight pattern of the missile is programmed in the flying mission. To provide the possibility of guidance on different targets, one or more missions can be loaded into the guidance system of the missile.
The Kh-59MK2 missile can operate over any terrain, in any season in lighting environments of 10-3 – 105 lx.
The missile can be operated with carrier-aircraft equipped with AKU-58-type aerial ejection system.
